Raúl has worked with metal in Sweden, the United States and Chile. This archive brings together gates, staircases and railings alongside furniture, lamps and decorative pieces. Today he continues to make things in Patagual.
What I recognize most in him is the energy he brings to an idea. He wants to understand what someone has in mind and find a way to make it.
The blue light in the garage.
I was four or five. We lived in Teleborg, Växjö, Sweden, and Dad had set up a small metal workshop in the garage. When he was about to weld, he would tell me to go outside.
From outside, I could see the blue light through the windows, lighting up the walls and ceiling. It is one of my first memories of him at work.
